It's that time again. :) There are a few more albums I want yet (Woven Hand, Califone) but I don't plan on buying anymore until next year. Whether I can actually hold out that long remains to be seen. Instead of trying to jam everything on it I did things a bit differently this year. While I'm sure I could have worked in some Slayer and Tool and Mastodon I decided to leave the metal off as it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the stuff here. I also left out some meh stuff (like Espers) because I wanted to focus on the ten albums I listened to most and not just cherry pick good songs off of mediocre albums. I guess this post can serve as my top 10 of 2006 as well. Anyway . . . . .

01. Babyshambles - I Wish
02. Loose Fur - Thou Shalt Wilt
03. The Decemberists - O Valencia!
04. The Black Heart Procession - Not Just Words
05. Built To Spill - Traces
06. Grandaddy - Disconnecty
07. The Black Heart Procession - GPS
08. Sparklehorse - Ghost In The Sky
09. Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
10. Babyshambles - The Blinding
11. Built To Spill - Conventional Wisdom
12. Thom Yorke - Black Swan
13. Grandaddy - Rear View Mirror
14. Loose Fur - An Ecumenical Matter
15. Sparklehorse - Getting It Wrong
16. Grandaddy - Summer...It's Gone
17. Calexico - Bisbee Blue
18. The Decemberists - Yankee Bayonet (I Will Be Home Then)
19. Calexico - Panic Open String
20. Loose Fur - Answers To Your Questions

It works out to 79:33 if you burn it as a gapless CD-R and is 539MB (FLAC)

PM me for the d/l link

Cool looking comp, as usual. Did one recently myself. Kept it short and to the point. Criminally good. Went kinda like this ...

1 Califone - Black Metal Valentine
2 Built To Spill - Liar
3 Wovenhand - Slota Prow - Full Armour
4 Wovenhand - Truly Golden
5 Shack - Finn, Sophie, Bobby & Lance
6 Nina Nastasia - Dumb I Am
7 Nina Nastasia - One Old Woman
8 Califone - Alice Crawley / The Orchids
9 Black Heart Procession - The Spell
10 PJ Harvey - Victory
11 TV On The Radio - I Was a Lover
12 Howe Gelb - But I Did Not
13 Sparklehorse - Shade and Honey
14 Willard Grant Conspiracy - Flying Low

Yea, that's all I got.

Criminally good. Too much humility is not one of your faults.

Hey nobody and everyone else (I like saying that :) ), clean out your PM box.

Also, I put this comp in an existing folder but forgot to change the folder name (2006 So Far). If you happened to d/l the earlier preview you will probably be prompted to replace the existing folder/files. Do so as I simply added songs to it so you'll not lose anything.

Too much humility is not one of your faults.
But it's about the artists, not me. I'm just a happy customer. You can even think of us comp builders as being a long string of humble middlemen, tireless and uncompensated, but still helping get the word out to the people. My main fault is an overabundance of kindness. But such is life ....

May your shade be sweet
And float upon the lakes
Where the sun will be
Made of honey

Naturally Slosh is the first out of the chute although a bit later than last year if I recall. Some there I don't have, maybe for a good reason, maybe not. Can't tell for sure until I hear the sucker. PM sent and I can't wait, thanks Sloshie.

jcWhat, you don't have a Linn Sondek 12 ethernet port? Maybe build yourself a tube cable modem and, of course, wall-mount it

Hey Slosh, great comp, again!

Likely gonna end up in more CD purchases. On my short list are investigations into Loose Fur, Thom Yorke, and The Black Heart Procession. Thanks for helping me keep in touch with the new and now.

Your Faux Punk comp still is one of my favs. I hope you consider re-upping it for those who weren't on the download wagon at the time...

Nice work!

Thanks. It's not easy being cool

As far as re-ups go, nah. Think of it as a limited edition :)

Only nine takers on this one. Exclusive club, I guess.
