I just noticed that AA redesigned their website (http://www.audioadvisor.com). It's a little less crayola than the last one and seems to be a little more responsive. And they finally figured out that in an alphabetical list people look for speakers under "s" not "l"

That's cool, is it still 12 steps? How's that going for you anyway?

Well the crayola site was a lot slower, a lot like coming to work with a hangover...

All joking aside, their Clearance/B-Stock section is a lot harder to navigate. You can no longer order items by type. So if you're looking for a preamp in the clearance section, you have to look through all the pages. This is pretty lame.

They also don't have the option of displaying all items on a single page, like they did before. Again, if it's a category with lots of items, you have to wade through pages of stuff until you find what you need. Not the most user-friendly.

Good observation there Nightflier.

Other online retailers carry almost everything AA carries and much more. I always thought AAs Clearance and B-Stock was about the only compettive advantage AA had over others. And now they changed it making harder for customers to browse and look for "HOTBUYS".

It does seem easier to find new items though, but just not enough selection. As usual, J dun get it..

soem of the places I have actually purchased from:

Musicdirect
Acousticsounds
AudioWave Triangle Comete ES for $849 free ship http://www.audioshopper.com/AudioWaves/default1.html
Elusivediscs
Dedicated Audio
American Theater Systems SA8001 for $720 after shipping http://www.amsound2.com/
Needledoctor
Turntable Basics
and ramdom places for tubes.

Place I always look is

UpScaleAudio under demoes and specials. http://www.upscaleaudio.com/view_category.asp?cat=31

Audio Waves and American Theater Systems got some great deals/demo. Also, if you call them up they might have some stuff for a cheaper price.

I was looking at UpSacleaudio and they got some great deals, but some arent that great.

Like MF A3.2 IntAmp for $1195. I love that integrated, but the fact you can get a brand new A3.5 for $1599.

There was a time when AA was a lot better, back when their catalog was twice what it is now and they carried higher-end brands like Perreaux. Too bad they are becoming so mainstream - now their website is too. If it wasn't for the great customer service, I'd probably look elsewhere as well. That said, they have not yet responded to my comments about the website, hmmmm....
