Just caught this guy on INHD. Holy smokes what a performance! The guy channels Stevie Ray & Jimmie H like nobody I've heard. His three piece band really kicked butt too! How did this guy fly under my radar for so long?!

I heard of him when he was in Arc Angels. They were a band formed by Jimmy Vaughan and members of Double Trouble to pay tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan. I would have liked to have seen that performance on INHD. Hopefully I'll catch a rerun. Anyway, I'll assume you haven't heard this album http://www.amazon.com/Arc-Angels/dp/B000003TA6. I suggest you get it.

Doyle made quite a few appearances on the Clapton Crossroads thingy a couple years back. On that disc you can catch him in action both as a sideman with EC and fronting his own band.

You can also catch him on Roger Waters' superb In The Flesh - Live DVD.

He played with Eric Clapton, and Roger Waters. How did this guy fly under my radar?!

I'vr spent some time with this:

Doyle BramhallII: Welcome (http://www.amazon.com/Welcome-Doyle-Bramhall-II-Smokestack/dp/B000056Q3U/sr=8-1/qid=1162674224/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-8955302-9495314?ie=UTF8&s=music)

It didn't do well with the critics, but it rocks pretty hard for me. DB II is a work in progress, me thinks.

I noticed on the Crossroads video that he plays left-handed but instead of re-stringing the guitar he strings it like a right-handed guitar that's just swung over with the low E on the bottom and the high E on the top. Plus, it was actually a left-handed guitar!
I had a real WTF moment figuring that one out. He's good, though.

I had noticed that too, very unconventional and awkward looking. He makes it work though.

He also appears on the new Clapton/JJ Cale cd, which is pretty darn good. The cd is called The Road To Escondido. Just came out Tuesday
