Trying to erase your past, eh? Missed that thread, but hey, could it have been that bad?

What's spinning? Hmm, I'm playing a Pinback show from The Archive. Great stuff and decently recorded too. Crossing my fingers in getting an advance of the new Shins album this weekend. And I don't care, I'm counting as a 2006 album being that it's ready to go and all.

Going to my friend's in a bit and she's letting me borrow her Dead Like Me DVD set. Only seen a few episodes but it looks like it could be a cult classic. WhyTF was it killed (no pun) by Showtime? Arrgh! At any rate I bet my daughter will like it. < segue > She's going to a Misfits/Adicts show tonight. Should be a good one and I'm really tempted to tag along but would feel a little weird at an all-ages show. Hell, some of my daughter's friends are a little too flirty with me now as it is. :o Pretty scary, even on Halloween Eve eve eve.

Trying to erase your past, eh?
The past is always one step ahead of me ... time considered as a helix of semi-precious stones. But yeah, you should've deleted this thread, and then it would've read "Thread deleted by Davey --> Thread deleted by Slosh". Like the future past. Something Tim Rutili could sing about. Like in "Our Kitten Sees Ghosts", when he sings, "it's almost surgical, the way you shatter, when you hit the water." Love that song. Love that album, Roots & Crowns. Love Califone. Shins are good, sure, no doubt, like them a lot myself, but never better than this. Dream on. Even made #22 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart last week, or maybe this week, at least according to news at their site. Hehehe, what's going on in the world today? Who broke the double helix? Somebody else likes this crazy stuff now too? The kids are alright? Califone is doing a Thanksgiving show with Wilco in Chicago ... and gawd, I hate Chicago, but wish I could see that. If I had good friends in Chicago, and it wasn't the busiest holiday of the year, and I wasn't so dumb ... oh well, maybe it'll show up in the live archive. What a sympatico pairing.

And now you know why I deleted the other one, which only had a couple views after almost a whole day, but it was mostly indecipherable Sparklehorse ramblings. Califone is hugely better. Timeless, lost in the belly of swans, not mountains :)

I'm sorry that i missed what you wrote about Sparklehorse. I have really enjoyed their latest release, and the sonics are very good for a 12" slab of black plastic. Not perfect, mind you, nor audiophile (whatever that is) but very good. It's my favorite Sparklehorse thus far. I purchased while visiting my son in Southern CA, and it really opened up a nice dialog with the late 40's to 50-something owner of this cool little record store. What are your thoughts on Sparklehorse's latest, Davey?
