It appears that the stand-alone HD-DVD can be plugged into a PC. Currently it will be recogzined as a Drive, but not an HD-DVD drive. MS was mum as to additional software on the computer could enable HD playback on a PC.
However, they did not flatly deny that it can be done. This is pretty cool, as you could tote your HD-DVD drive around and watch movies if you have an HD enabled laptop.
