M-Audio MicroTrack question

I just bought one and plan to use it for soundboard recording. Does anyone know of a solution to extend the amount of battery power if there's no available outlets for the AC adapter?

it's kind of frustrating though because that means I have to carry a USB cable too so there's one more cable to get in the way. I can't comprehend why the company would put an internal battery on a portable recorder so that you have to rely on an AC source...
