I am upgrading my 795a and went to get my RX-V1400 that came in today. The owner said he would sell me the 1300 for $450 verses $700 for the 1400. Not sure what to do now. Do you think the 1400 is worth the extra money?

Really, the main difference between the two units is the more flexible bass management and the parametric room calibration with the 1400. Ordinarily, I would go for a lower priced closeout model, but in the case of the 1400, the changes are substantial and the YPAO function is potentially something that affects the sound quality pretty dramatically. It's really up to you whether that extra functionality is worthwhile.

YPAO is a great feature IMHO. Will you use DPLIIx? 7.1? DTS 96/24? Video upconverson to component video? A third zone? I think these are basic differences in the units.
Did I mention YPAO is a great feature? That said the price difference is significant if you will just be using it for 5.1. Tough call.
Enjoy your choice.

I will go with the 1400. Do not want to turn around and have to upgrade again like I am with the 795a. Thanks fot the input.
