I'm not really sure of which segment of market they were planning to penetrate, but it's no Cash Cow. If anything, that product is a Dog. Of course this is my point of view as a consumer in US. I do understand that Japanese Audiophiles just can't get enough of Marantz gears in general. Where they just trying to steal some of Technic's market share under their brand?

It looks georgeous, and look at this, something specific will look familiar too you when you compare this to the marantz.

of course they're trying to steal some of technic's market, it's one of the best direct drive tt brands, it's logical that you want a share in that

P.S. if you haven't figured out what it is that "looks familiar", take a good look at the tonearm and it's mechanism again, it is exactly the same as the technics, in fact, i bet it is a technics arm.

oh yeah, been to the hi-fi show in brussels, WOW, it was the "first time in a live" experience with von schweikert, mcintosh, rega, Pluto tt's, and a tube amp with HUGE tubes on it (only 2 but really, HUGE) i do forget the brand, .... i've got no pics because i was soo stupid and forgot my photocamera, anyways, it was really really worth it. next step: high end in Munich.
