Westinghouse 42" 1080p LCD (?)

I've biding my time, waiting for a good 1080p display to be available under $2k. Well now the Westinghouse LVM-42w2 is out, and Best Buy has it on sale for $1700.

I've read decent reviews of this set. Has anybody out there used it or own it? How do you like it?

I understand there's not HD tuner built in - I don't care.

The option is the new Samsung, but it's 40" and ~ $2800

Thoughts?

Westinghouse dosen't make anything anymore. The brand name has been sold to many products, some laughable. . Before seriously considering this TV, check what generic TV factory it came out of. Its more recognizable brother and sister brand names are probably sets like Insigna, Polariod, Wal-Mart's generic brand name.

Good point. But although Westinghouse licensed its brand name from CBS/ Viacom, the company is a legit business that imports LCDs and components, mainly from China but apparently not exclusively. In fact, they have been known to use Samsung glass. Westinghouse has shown up as a serious product in enough publications and casual industry buzz to take it out of the realm of the fly by night. Furthermore, its products seem to show the kind of attention to video standards that the rogue companies blithely ignore.
