Looks like John Mark Karr indeed is a pedophile ... who had nothing to do with Jonbenet Ramsey's murder. The DNA profile did not match Karr, so the murder charges against him have been dropped. His confession amounted to nothing more than 15 minutes of fame and a ticket out of Thailand. It's yet another strike on that Boulder DA's office. I can't believe that on a high profile case like this one, they dragged him back to the U.S. under the glare of all those cameras without any forensic testing.

Karr's a sick pud, and now the waters on the case have been muddied even further. Suspicion falls back on the Ramseys (even if the evidence does not point to them), Jonbenet's killer's still free, and Karr got a free ticket to set up shop anywhere in the U.S. Pretty deplorable situation all the way around.

What the hell?
It's a sad state of affairs when people get charged for selling strawberries on city streets, but @#%$-ups like this guy get a free pass on tax payer dime...ugh...Somedays I can't even read the news. :(

I think there's still a warrant on Karr for possession of kiddie porn. But, from the looks of things he wanted notoriety, and being arrested for having child pornography on a computer doesn't get the kind of attention that confessing to a highly sensationalized murder will. Everything about this case has a stench about it. It's like the more you read, the more you need to take a shower afterwards.

How much will he make on the book he'll write?

I wonder if the news media will be sufficiently embarrassed about their obssessive reporting on this matter, or will this be an indicator of their complete lack of shame?

Latest twist in the case is that California officials now want Karr to answer for the child porn possession charges. Extradition hearings start tomorrow. So, it doesn't look like he'll get a get-out-of-jail-free card, but the California warrant is only a misdemeanor and carries a maximum jail time of 1 year. One positive outcome though is that he would be entered into the sex offenders database.

I can't believe that his lawyers are crying about him being charged without forensic evidence. Hello! The guy confessed to being there "when she died"! Well, since she died in her own house, you do the math.

Sounds to me like the lawyers are trying to build a case for unfair treatment so that they can sue someone. Gee, I wonder who'll profit from that?

...and the missus as a nut-case from the get-go...

Since this character seems to be not all there, that could mean he could be anywhere he projects himself to be...one comment, early on, after Karr said he "...spoke with her...", came from some independent analyst who suggested someone ask him if she still speaks to him...
