I returned yesterday from the Drum corps championships in Madison Wisconsin with my twin sons and nephew. I have not attended championships since 2004, and this is my 17th year attending championships.
I am so proud of the Cavaliers for winning another DCI championship trophy. Their show "Machine" was one of the most creative shows I have ever seen on the field, and they did this with no props, or amplified voice. The Blue Devils who placed consistantly 2nd place through quarter and semi finals fell to 3rd place behind the surprise corps of the finals Phantom Regiment. Here are the scores from finals for those who are interested.
The Cavaliers 97.200
Phantom Regiment 96.850
Blue Devils 96.550
Bluecoats 93.175
The Cadets 93.075
Santa Clara Vanguard 92.350
Blue Knights 90.125
Carolina Crown 89.975
Madison Scouts 87.700
Boston Crusaders 87.325
Glassmen 86.000
Spirit from JSU 84.825
Next year the finals will be in Pasadena California, and you can bet your hometheater system I will be there as this is the first championships to be held in California EVER.
