I'm trying to put together a punk(ish) comp from mostly metal bands. Got any suggestions? Covers are okay.

Here's what I got so far (some of these could be replaced):

Running Free - Iron Maiden
Entering - Soundgarden
Naked In Front Of The Computer - Faith No More
Buck Owens - Melvins
Suck - Type 14
Last Caress/Green Hell - Metallica (too obvious?)
Policia - Sepultura
Abolish Government/Superficial Love - Slayer
Live Wire - Motley Crew
Easy Livin' - Fastway
Whole Lotta Rosie - AC/DC
1% - Jane's Addiction

Guess I need 10 or 12 more. I know I can come up with the rest on my own but I thought I'd pick your brains first.

maybe some Pantera...

or you could go all thrashy with DRI, Crossion of Conformity, CroMags, etc...

Guns & Roses does a few fun punk covers on Spaghetti Incident.

Megadeth does Anarchy in the USA (UK)

I always think Black Sabbath's Paranoid sounds kinda punk

How about some SOD?SOD? You mean System of a Down? If so, yeah, I guess it would fit in there but I don't really like them much.

Was also thinking about some Megadeth (The Sex Pistols cover as suggested is a good one . . . duh, how did I miss that one?) Also Anthrax with something like "Antisocial" but I'm not too sure it's punk enough. Hmmm . . .

FWIW, if I'm happy with this little project when finished I'll upload it (FLAC).

How about Institutionalized~Suicidal Tendencies?

Isn't SOD short for Stormtroopers of Death?

Isn't SOD short for Stormtroopers of Death?Sadly, the only Suicidal Tendencies I have in my collection (that I'm aware of) is one song ("These Freaks Are Here To Party" or something like that).

Maybe I'm a sod

They definitely became a metal band later, but they were truly hardcore in that phase of their existence.

Yes. I'm thinking something off of Speak English Or Die, such as "Milano Mosh."

For a newer band you could throw in Buckcherry, there alittle over the top for me
but might fit in. There new track out "Crazy *****", has got to be one of the most
x rated cuts I've ever heard. It belongs on somebodys comp disc.

D.R.I. would be a good band. The Misfits should have been your first choice. If you want to add something new you should check Strung Out.

I've never thought of them as a metal band.

I like bobsticks pick of "Institutionalized" by ST but another suggestion is "I Sold your Dog to a Chinese Restaurant" by Anal C*nt... or really, just about anything from them. Really disgusting homophobic punk grindcore. Hilarious.

I guess more of punk. but songs like We Bite and Devil Lock, Green Hell are pretty metal. The Earth A.D. album.

Yeah, they were heading in that direction toward the end. I tend to think of them more as hardcore punk in that era, and that Samhain was more metal.
