I've got all the drivers picked out for my system:

Tweeters: Audax 3/4" shielded Titanium Dome #TM020J7
Mids: Audax 5.25" Shielded Aerogel Midrange #AP130ZO
Woofers: 12" Dayton Shielded DVC Subwoofer #295490
(all on sale from partsexpress.com :D )

My center will be two mids and a tweeter, the two fronts a tweeter, a mid, and a woofer, and the two rears a tweeter and a mid. I hope that the two 12's will suffice for low-end until I can afford to put in a real sub.

Now my question is, where do I go to find crossover plans and parts? I've heard that madisound can do them, are there any others? And how much can I expect the rest of the materials run me?

Wow! It's sweet that it's that easy. That will work for all of my 2-ways, but is there a resource I can use to design my 3-way crossover for my two front speakers?

I think that I might just browse through the preassembled crossovers for one that meets my application. How do I decide where to have the crossover points? The frequency specs from the speakers are as follows:

AUDAX TM020J7 3/4" SHIELDED TITANIUM DOME TWEETER
Frequency response: 3,000-20,000 Hz
AUDAX AP130ZO 5-1/4" SHIELDED AEROGEL MIDRANGE
Frequency range: 57-6,000 Hz
DAYTON 12" SHIELDED DVC SUBWOOFER
Frequency range: 30-1,000 Hz

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: The Audax speakers are 6 ohm, the dayton is 8.

Try this:

You need high pass for tweeter, band pass for midrange, and low pass for woofer.
Happy design.

Sweet. Now, two questions.

1. For my fronts (tweeter, mid, woofer), do I wire the crossovers in parallel from the

2. How do I decide where to make the cutoff for each speaker's frequency? I know that each speaker has a range, but I read somewhere that the crossover point must be twice the Fs. I guess that just applies to the mid and tweeter, right?

After a lot of research, I've decided to go with a design that I found on solen's website. Using components from Parts Express, I should be able to get the parts for about 60% of what Solen is charging!
