I am trying to decide between Aperion 533pt powered towers or Definitve Tech BP7006 bipolar tower speakers for the main speakers of a ht setup in my basement. They are both aprox the same price. If anyone has any experience with these speaker or opinions about them it would be appreciated. :6:

or any other suggestions on recomendations. thanks

Something to keep in mind with the DefTech's is that bipolars need a fair amount of room to work their best. Figure at least 3' of room behind them and more than that from the side walls. If your HT is in the living room, this could create considerable WAF issues. Most spouse's don't cotton to big, black, monoliths sitting out in the middle of their living room.

Ahh that settles it then. Definitely go with Aperion. Hey MO......who pulled your string? You ever heard the old saying "if you don't have something good to say (or in this case constructive), then don't say anything"? With your Active 40's (weighing in at 55 lbs each, lack of full-range capability, and costing $750 per speaker) it's easy to see why you don't have much to add to this conversation anyway. But you can always hijack a thread to add negativity.........hey, I would be pissed too If I had to live here.

I'm not familiar with the 7006's, but am very happy with the BP3000tl's (http://www.definitivetech.com/reviews/BP3000TLAR4c.pdf).

Hey Robert those are some sweet speakers you got there. The 7006's are smaller than yours with 300 watt built in subs and 8" woofers but they still sound pretty darn good.

Good luck with whichever speaker you purchase. Let us know what you decide!~

A simple right click on the picture, and take a look at properties. Easy to see that NA inserted this picture into my original post. I must admit, I don't look QUITE that good.....!

You'd think I would use my powers to edit other peoples posts for good instead of evil...but that's no fun!
