This is a very excellent Mr. Mid-Fi comp from back in the day
Anyway, way back when I burned a copy for my brother and I got an e-mail from him today saying his copy got thrashed and could I burn him another? Hell no, but I did send him a ysi (508MB - wma lossless) so if anyone else wants to snag a copy . . .

Man, I forgot all about that thing. Glad to see it's still out there in circulation. BTW, I can't tell you how many times we played my all-Slosh comp in the car on my recent vacation. Good times, good times...

Awesome, awesome stuff there man. I love older REM and their lesser-known stuff (ie. non-singles), and this is a great compilation. But Electrolite? I'm gonna have to really disagree with that one... I wouldn't have picked Star 69 either as the only one from Monster, but it doesn't offend me too badly. All in all, 19/21 is pretty good. Ah, I'm gonna have to give these guys a listen soon, methinks.

very nice!

i only mention these because I never thought about culling my favorite rem tracks til seeing this - a couple non-hits include Voice of Harold from Dead Letter Office that's an alternate take on 7 Chinese Bros. It's ultimately an ode to appalachian bluegrass/gospel. I think fans of the Oh Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack would appreciate this one.

New Adventures in Hi-Fi has grown on me recently. I thought it was boring initially. Be Mine is one of my favorite tracks. I wish I could get that guitar sound in the intro and opening verse - very mellow laidback rythm w/smooth as buttah distortion.

14 World Leader Pretend
15 Cuyahoga
16 Texarkana
17 Fireplace
18 Bandwagon
19 (don't Go back To) ROCKVILLE
20 Kahoutek
21 Oddfellows Local 151

If memory serves, that's actually the liner notes from an old gospel record that Stipe is reading on that track. Silly idea, but it works for me.
