Hi
New Guy Here.
Just curious. Does anybody play '78s (seriously, I mean, as in at least 10% of the time.)
What type of gear do you use? What time of music?
Thanks in advance. Hoping for at least 1 reply.
best to all

I certainly don't, and I seriously doubt you'll get any responses at all from anyone who listens to them 10% of the time. It's not just that 78's are so old, but that in order to play them, you need a 78 stylus (the LP stylus is much too small, and simply falls to the bottom of the groove), and of course, you need a turntable with a 78 speed which many modern tables don't have.

I knew a guy who swore by the sound of his 78's back in the 60's and I thought he was nuts then, I suspect I'd feel much the same today from anyone claiming the same thing.

I only play wax cylinders. The original original "standard".
