If I was as to put some lead shot in my cd player case, would this help in any way?

I guess it would depend on how you put it there!!

It might, but I would remove the cd's I liked before I pulled the trigger!

Adding loose shot alone in a CDP doesn't necessarily provide any benefits. That approach is usually employed with speaker cabinets or frames for mass loading. The 3" steel tubular frames on my 'stats are hollow to allow for such.

I added two tweaks to my older Pioneer PD-54: Dynamat placed liberally on transport mechanism and cabinet to damp vibration and replaced captive AC cord with shielded 14 gauge and Hubbell connectors. When I used the analog outputs, I made a 75 ohm shorting plug for the digital output. Collective result? Darker background and a bit more focus and detail.

Depends on how you get it in there. If you use a shotgun, it might help you upgrade your CDP.
