For those of you who wanted to know, I will be the prog DJ guest on Jeff Wiseman's radio show Twilight Spirits once again.
The show is this Sunday morning, June 11, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. eastern time (New York) on CKLN-FM, 88.1 in Toronto.
If you want to listen over the internet, the live link is:

I haven't decided the set list yet, but I will be including some Zappa alumni (Bozzio, Ponty, Keneally, maybe Vai), ELP, Carl Palmer Band, probably something by The Flower Kings, maybe Kino, PFM, Jim Gilmour.
The problem with prog is that with longer songs, you only have time to play 8 to 10 tunes.

Are any of these broadcasts archived? I assume a comp is in the works...
Has the station been receiving any positive feedback about your spot? Any negative feedback?
Do you actually get to speak over the air? If so, do you use a different personna and speaking voice ala Wolfman Jack?
Any chance of getting a different time slot, say when people are awake?
I'll bet you're having a blast (I'm still jealous). Good luck! Keep that torch lit!

Cool. I just bought a new clock radio. I can test it out on your show.
Hey 3LBs signature makes me think that you should play some Kevin Gilbert...something off of Shaming of the True. The song about the record company execs...you know the one.
I just can't imagine "Suit Fugue" at 8am on a sunday . . .
Yeesh.
You should, however, play this:

PS It's one of Troy's own compositions. And yes, I agree, it's very good. Troy, I really like that one. Takes me back to the classic cinematic instrumentals like Audion-era Synergy, or maybe something from Split Enz.
Thanks you guys!
I have a guy playing the guitar parts so they sound more natural. I'll dub them in soon.
So yeah, WTF do I do with this stuff now that I make it?
And Barry, how was the sow?

And Barry, how was the sow?
The sow was a little overcooked but things go better with prog!
I bumped that mp3 to the top of my downloader ahead of a Gong cd. So, the first two songs in the queue were:
Secret Missile Base
Gorbachev Cocktail
Cool, huh?
I LOVE that synthesizer. A full, deep sound.

WAY cool.
Been wanking with that big square-wave synth thing lately. Check out this one, and I went off the deep end with the percussion:

I heard from a reliable source that you slept through the show. What good is an alarm clock that doesn't wake you up?
You missed the best show EVER!!!!!!
Oh well. life is like that sometimes.:17:

And Barry, how was the sow?
The show was good.
Here's the playlist:
1. Blue Planet – The Flower Kings
2. 21st Century Schizoid Man – King Crimson
3. Mechanical Bride – Steve Hackett
4. Karn Evil 9, 1st Impression, Pt. 1 – ELP
5. Karn Evil 9, 1st Impression, Pt. 2 – Paul Gilbert
6. Barbarian – Carl Palmer Band
7. Siberian Khartu – Stanley Snail
8. Worrywart Spoonguy – Mike Keneally
9. Spiral – Bozzio, Levins, Stevens
10. The Maze – Another Roadside Attraction
11. Wasteland – Jim Gilmour
It's interesting that you can now replace keyboards with guitars. That's how good the guitar players are today. The problem is that while it is very heavy metal sounding, it is also very angular for the most part. It doesn't have the smoothness that keyboards have, which means that it is usually less melodic. This is less of a problem with the very best players like Steve Vai or Mike Petrucci.

Oh yeah? What source? Don't believe them. It's not true. The alarm clock went off just fine. But I'm still getting used to where the buttons are situated. I just happened to hit the off button by mistake. Yeah...by mistake...that's the ticket.
Hubby heard most of it and did say that it was the best show that you've done. I guess I'll have to wait for the CD.
