Behold the HT of Ron Cadwell, a gentleman that made his millions the old fashioned way:

He sells sex!

Apparently his company hosts most of the adult websites out there, but that's not the point. I found this on Bimmerforums as we were all ogling his garage which includes some pretty heady iron, including the almighty Bugatti Veyron :yikes:!

However, while perusing the rest of his estate and checking out the rest of his toys, including a Bell JetRanger, I noticed his HT.

It's the bridge of the Enterprise from Star Trek!

Geez! That looks like an awful lot of "discreet" billing charges went into building that theater! :D Quite nice, but what's w/ the paper towel roll and the Journey album cover on the bridge?

It's only the things we have to strive for that we truly appreciate.

I don't even understand this sentiment. Money has nothing to do with dreams, goals, and the ability to motivate yourself. Whether you make $20K/yr or $20M/yr, the ability to achieve and...more importantly... contribute, comes from within, not from material possessions. Take Bill Gates, one of the richest men on the planet and yet he won Time Magazine's Person of the Year (along with Bono) not for his contributions to the internet age, but for his philanthropic and egalitarian efforts. If you think that wealth's reward is a mound of material objects, you may want to expand your thinking.

I agree...It's only the things we have to strive for that we truly appreciate.Again, I'm at a loss.

Are you implying that this guy didn't work hard to achieve this level of wealth? How do you know?

If you guys end up rich and are unhappy, I'll be glad to help you out. I could take as much of that mean ol' cash off your hands as you need me to. That way you could keep right on struggling and have something to live for.
Aint I nice?

For many people who chase money, the money is the goal. For me, lots of money would be the freedom to achieve so many things, but it would not be to chase shallow material consumerism. I applaud Gates and other philanthropists who do worthwhile things with their money. However, I happen to know several multimillionaires (one of them is my daughter's father in law who made his money in the building industry) but who don't seem to know how to direct their wealth intelligently. They'll go out and buy stuff on a whim without examining its intrinsic value and hardly use it or appreciate it afterwards. They do not support the arts or worthy charities, and only spend money to make more money, or to make an impression. Alternatively they go to the casino and chuck it down the toilet - where is the value in that?

My comment supporting Flo's was merely targetting our hobby, and not questioning how hard the fellow worked for his money or his goals and aspirations. From his extravagant setup, I rather suspect he did it more for bragging rights than a real appreciation of his setup. Besides, he probably didn't even desighn it himself, but paid a professional. I know for sure that I appreciate my modest equipment, which a had to work for extremely hard, a lot more than someone who has the dough to get stuff without thought and planning and wondering if he can afford it.
