New David Gilmour...?

I just bought his "On An Island" album and so far it just stinks. At best this is some decent elevator music, I'm afraid. I had expected so much more. But then maybe I expect too much, considering his past super-success and all, but, jeez, this just left me completely deflated and un-inspired.

Anyone else had a chance to listen yet?

Bought it the day it came out.On first listen i did not like it either,but with repeat listening it grew on me very quickly.It reminds me of old pink floyd(pre dark side of the moon).Don't give up on it.

Sounded like 3rd rate, watered down PF to me. And I'm not a big fan of theirs in the first place. I can see the appeal if you are, but otherwise, I'd guess I'd be inclined to lean towards the older vintage.
