Any early HD-DVD adopter who is planning on renting HD-DVDs through Netflix can now activate HD-DVD access on their account. All you have to do is go to the "account" link on the Netflix homepage, and then click on the HD-DVD link. By saying you have a player, it will allow you to activate HD-DVD access and then choose an option to automatically add the HD-DVD version of a given title if it is available. Once activated, your queue will show the format of each disc (DVD or HD-DVD). A similar option for Blu-ray will be available later on (it mentions this during the HD-DVD activation screens). HD-DVD access (and I am sure Blu-ray when it is available) will not cost any extra money to the regular Netflix service.
