If that's true, how about at least specifying a price range.

IMNSHO, Grado SR-80. If you can find 'em for <100, the 125 would be better. But, the odds are your laptop won't be able to do justice to them, though. Good headphones need a good amp which most laptops lack. You'll have some fine headphones that won't be performing up to their full potential but, if it makes you feel better, you'll know you've got one of the most respected 'phones in that price range.
For a more realistic solution to your situation that leaves ego out of the equation, these are hard to beat:

I use the RatShack version of these (Nova-35) myself for the laptop and portable uses.
At home I use either Grado SR-80s or Sennheiser 580s, depending on my mood.

Brother Jason,
There is no better headphone for you than the sr80's.
Yeah the 125's are great, but theres the added complication and price of an amp becaus while it is fairly easy to drive at an impedance of 32ohms, it ends in a 1/4 unlike the 80's 1/8th.
Go with the 80's.They ROCK.

The Grados are probably the best in terms of entry-level open headphones... it's just that your headphone socket may not be enough to power them properly as Grados are not hyper-efficient. For something truly portable, you could consider the folding Sennheiser PX100. Slightly more efficient than the Grados so will suffer less from problems with underpowered jacks.
