Long story short...I have a Yammy HTR-5590 (similar to rx-v1300) but don't like having a fixed 90Hz crossover (my sub is behind and to the right of me and I occasionally hear dialouge coming from it)...I have the opportunity to sell it for $250 (it's 3 years old)...I don't want to spend a ton more so I've been looking at the Pio vsx-815 or 1015 (I'd be willing to spend a little extra if the sound quality is better - I don't need the other feature differences)...would having an 80Hz crossover eliminate the directional sound from my sub or is the difference between 80 and 90 small? I have Paradigm On-wall Monitor 5's in case that makes a difference in this comparison...is the Pio "Auto equalization" a worthwhile feature too (the Yammy doesn't have it)?
