I have never used the heat shrink tubing before, but would like to use it at all my speaker wire terminations to clean things up a little bit at the ends. I don't have a heat gun, and would prefer not to buy one since it is something I would almost never be using. I know its only like $20-30 but would still prefer to not get one.

Is there a way I can shrink the tubing by another method? Thanks in advance.

I just made some power cords and used a hair dryer on that heat shrink, and that was 1 1/2" so smaller stuff should be no problem.

a lighter at a safe distance always works

I actually prefer using a lighter instead of a heat gun...no cord and you dont have to worry about the hot tip burning somthing when you put it down.

i got in a good fight with a heat gun one time. i put it down and a minute later i turned around to answer the phone and i hit my arm on it and now i have a nasty scar from it. so remember always pay attention to where you put your heat gun lol

Thanks guys. Guess I'll try the hair dryer first, and if that doesn't work will use a lighter.
