Kind of a pointless barb considering that you're already out of school, and still live with your parents.

The people know that i dont care about the price of audio equipment,

Easy not to care about the price tag, if you got someone else paying the bills at home. Talk to us in a few years about not caring about the price of audio when you have a life.

i judge people based on their knowledge and you fail in that on the areas that interest me.

No, you equate knowledge with what people own, and that's an pretty dumb criteria considering how many self-proclaimed audiophiles out there dump tons of money into their systems without a clue as to how it all fits together or how it impacts on sound quality.

All connected with generic OEM ICs, Discwasher Gold-ens, TEAC Lo-caps and plain ol' 10ga. PA wiring (50ft/ch)...and yes, I have heard other, pricier systems...not impressed.

IMHO, there is no reason hi-fi must equal hi-priced, nor that an entire wing of my house (the operative word being my) be dedicated to it, in order to have exemplary audio enjoyment.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Talk to us when actually have a life. (Living vicariously through your audio system does not count.) Nothing unusual about college grads moving back in with the parents, but most of us who did also SAVED our money so that we could MOVE OUT as soon as possible! It's so comical reading your claims about hard you have to work and how you don't have much money, yet here you are constantly dumping every last euro into your audio system.

Fact of the matter is that if you actually had to foot the bill for your own living expenses, you sure as hell wouldn't be on this forum bragging about how much you spend on your audio system (yet crying poverty all the time) and how price is no object (yet claiming that you're not rich and have to work oh so hard for everything) and how we're all jealous (yet no one gives a rat's ass about your system as much as you like to shove it in everyone's face on post after post), blah blah blah. No shame in living at home, but it's pretty disingenuous for you to bash people for living on a budget and balancing their financial priorities when you've never had to.

Interesting that you would keep commenting about how people gang up on you. No one's ganging up on you. YOU bring everything upon yourself with your constant rants, personal attacks, lies, schoolboy attitude (and oldman's cynicism), and crybaby whining. If you don't understand that by now, then you got nobody to blame but yourself. The reaction that your posts attract is not only expected, but you seem to want any kind of attention, regardless of whether it's negative. Then again, the immaturity espoused in your posts is more indicative of a constant need to be the center of attention.

But, PLEASE don't go away! With Lexmark3200 now banned from the site, the perspective of life from the parents' basement is sadly lacking on this board. And the comic relief that your all too predictable pimping for attention brings to the board just makes our day! :D

I agree with you on that "there is no reason hi-fi must equal hi-priced". For me, I work really hard, and when I hear something I think can improve my enjoyment and I can afford it after all the other expenses have been taken care off-I buy it. I make no apologies for it. I do think that pride of ownership also comes into it.
For instance I am not into cars at all. I drive a 12 year old 4WD and it does the job. I know that a Range Rover will provide more of everything and will give me pride of ownership. But I don't seek it for 4 wheels.

High Price does not equal High Sound Quality. Please quote me where i made this statemnet untrue? But the fact remains, a 5000$ speaker system (regardless of brand) will never touch a State of the Art system in no area, whatsoever. And its cool that some like their Paradigm and Yamah equipment, but to even mention it in the same ballpark as the likes of true High Fifelity is a sin.

I work hard and listen to music at least 9hrs a day!

Do i need to justify myself for having a mega buck system?

I'm the same way. I'd be perfectly happy driving my chevy cavalier for many years to come with no desire to ever change until it clunks out. However I am always eager to upgrade stuff on my home theater, or to buy a grand piano.

BTW, yamaha grand pianos are bright just like their receivers :p

Hi Bjorn,

I bought my car when I started my own Business 12 years ago and somehow it has some sentimental value attached to it (went to my very first booking in it). I think they will have to pry it from me.
I would love to learn the piano but took up Guitar instead and only so many hours in the day.

Do i need to justify myself for having a mega buck system?

No one's making you justify yourself for what you own. It's when you go on these idiotic attacks, use your system to justify behaving like a dumbass, and equate the validity of people's opinions with the system that they own (which in your estimation would of course make your opinion the most important of all since you view your system as superior to everybody else's) that you get the well-deserved abuse that you take on this board. And your condescending attitude towards people who take price and budget into consideration is pretty laughable when the only reason that you can afford the gear that you own is because someone else pays your bills and keeps a roof over your head, and you don't have any other hobbies, social life, dates/girlfriends, or responsibilities.

Actually in my part of the world we are civilized and do not fight each other based on someones tastes. Ofcourse, i know that the communitys do not get a long in the US and that you have to be in "the hood" to be cool. Oh well, i can live without that. In our part of the world it is accepted if someone has a different opinion, here it gets accepted.

I am actually laughing my bum off to see you all reply, label me without even knowing me, sitting infront of your systems and lying to yourselfs on its qualities while wondering if that jerk on the forum is right. Here in Phila. It isn't about taste. It's about attitude. I don't care who or what you listen to. I don't care what equipment you use. I do take offense when your attitude is offensive. Florian sometimes reminds me of religious fanatics who think only they have the keys to heaven. Now that's offensive.

I just re-read Florians last post. Once again he says he doesn't like black music. I'd like to know just what kind of popular modern music exists that is not influenced by "black" music? Florian you sound more and more like a true bigot. Your attitude about equipment shows just how narrowminded and intolerant you are. It is just becomming more apparant just how intolerant about other things you really are.

I was trying to be on your side. I too am tired of reading about bozo's looking for and discussing the best $250 a pair speaker or the best under $500 reveiver. I don't spend my time trying to convince everyone else that my system and way is the only way. I know that if people really listen their expectations rise and their equipment will get better.
I prefer to let them discover for themselves. All that is needed is to wait and expose them to the better stuff. If they can hear they will know what is better.

You, on the other hand feel compelled to trash any and every thing you don't agree with. The more you write the more you reveal about your character or lack of. It seems to me that you only hate a person if he or she is black. The USA is better of with your kind in Germany.

You as a "radical audiophile" have a lot in common with "radical Muslims". The commonality of intolerance and narrow mindedness. The world would be better of without either of your kind.http://forums.audioreview.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

Well made point. And I am sure that holds true aswell for different types of music. Certain styles of music do not speak to me, but I will try ever so often (love to love Jazz-ain't happening right now).
Just as a point. I think it was pointed out before that in Europe usually "Black Music" is used to identify Dance Music (inclusive of Rap,Hip Hop,Jungle-I am no expert so don't shoot me down if I miss any out). Right or wrong be that as it may it is what it is. At the same time Blues or Jazz (arguably the best musicians here are Black) is identified just by that- Blues or Jazz.

Well, the Arabs and northern Africans don't think you guys are so civilized. They were put in housing projects just like the blacks were here They were denied equal rights and equal access just like the blacks here. Your neck of the woods have just as many issues with the color of ones skins as those in my country. Your problem is that you have bought in to a narrow interpretation of what black people are in this country. Not all blacks hate whites, just like not all Germans burned jews. Generalizations are no good for anyone.

PS: And i still dont like black music, has nothing to do with the "human beeings", but you all life the democratic freedom so you should know that. Freedom of expression......mmh maybe not. What kind of a country is this, where i can only hate a man when he is white.

What is black music? Jazz, Gospel, Rock, Blues, R@B, hip hop, pop? Sorry our little mislead 22 y/o, but all races are in all kinds of music. Emenim is a white rapper, so all rap is not black. Britney Spears sings pop, as does Whitney Houston when she is in her right mind. No one race can be tied to one kind of music here in America. People of all races are singing all different styles of music. Stereotypes are no good for anyone.

Lastly, hate is not race based. Two white people can hate each other, right? As can two blacks, hispanics, asians, Indian, or Arabs. No one races has a lock on hate, only ignorant people have that lock. Ignorance is no good for anyone.

This is a rather sad thread on many levels.

"Black Music" is a rather broad brush...goes from today's biggies in Rap down the line to Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, etc...fill in your own "black" artists. Quite an insult to paint them all as the same.
Music has no color but many styles. I am no fan of Rap but do not care for other styles as well regardless of race.

At times these forums remind me of being around drunks...no inhibitions...often saying things they would never say in the direct presence of those they are insulting...not much fun to read/see the true personality of some people.

What i don't understand is why the hell people come to this site and call people "bozo's" because they are happy with their gear. What happened to the love of music and why we enjoy this so much. if your in it for the gear, shut the hell up and enjoy your gear. if your in it for the love of music then shut the hell up and enjoy the music. some of us got a mortgage and bills and car payments and children and clothes and dang food to worry about, so if anyone gets happy about finding a "bang for the buck" anything that makes them happy, shut up and let them enjoy it. if your gear is so much money, good for you. but guess what, LJ don't give a @#%$. nobody can tell me they like anything better than me because theirs cost more.
