I just noticed a humming noise generated from my speakers!! Its a rather low drone that I noticed after the cable guy left. Since I figured it was cable related, I disconnected the coax cable "in" on the back of my digital cable box. The hum disappeared.
Im using a Denon 785
Sony Progessive Scan DVD
Paradigm Cinema 70s
and a digital Motorola cable box.

Im going to contact to the cable company, but I'd hoped someone in hear had an easy fix before I included those clowns again.

Any ideas? Like I say it goes away when I disconnect the cable.

Thanks!

Sounds like a ground loop got formed whenever that cable was plugged in. Cable TV is one of the more common culprits. You might want to try plugging your components into a different AC circuit (keep in mind that you might have more than one AC outlet sharing the same circuit) and see if that helps, because however the electricity gets routed on your system right, it likely forms a ground loop when the cable TV is part of the system.
