Hi guys,
I need some help with my selection of enclosures for my sub. Its a JL audio 12" W3v2 (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=12) I know its a car sub, but i don't use it in my car anymore, so Im using it in my house now.
I was hoping that someone could help me out in reccomending an enclousure for the sub.
Im not really after huge SPL or extreme low frequency response, but I do want something thats clear and tight sounding.
Also if I build a ported box, all the box design software i've tried gives me port diameter and length, but what if I want to use a slot port? Is it just the area inside the port that matters? or something else?

Thanks Pete

This woofer doesn't like ported boxes...stick it in an 18.5" cube made of .75" MDF well braced...maybe double up the front baffle...102 litres sealed.
should give a great in room F3

Make it a Cube, or any shape with that volume? Golden ratio box?
Thanks

Subwoofers aren't really affected much by internal standing waves, etc. Make it whatever shape you want with that volume...
That's why you see so many cube-ish subs out there. Some elect to go tall and skinny to make them quasi-speaker stands like Watt Puppys. Knock yourself out.

Have you checked the JLAudio.com site they have a wealth of info. They will have specific box sizes for that specific sub as well as other things you might need to know.
