You're just trying to get your number of postings up so you can catch up to FA.
(That's what I'm doing, and I'm not ashamed of it. Unfortunately, her proclivity to always have the last word will prevent me from catching up. Does that count as an interesting personal tidbit - which I think is like a Timbit only with less calories.)

My favorite cheap beer is Old Style.
And, one of my favorite local bars, where you can catch some really good rockabilly/americana type bands along with the occasional garage/punk group sells cans of Old Style for a buck.
Yeah...I like the good stuff too...but when I'm gonna settle in for some serious drinking and don't have the wallet for a dozen imports or whatever, I'm nowhere near proud enough to forego a good drunken time by refusing to drink cheap beer.

In '86-'87, I was working somewhere between Chattanooga and Knoxville, travelling home to FL on the week-ends. The first trip out of the Chattanooga airport, I went into the bar and asked for some sort of beer- the response was that the only kind of beer they served was Old Style on tap. I bought one. For the next year, on a weekly basis, I drank hard liquor at the bar in the Chattanooga airport.

Boards that let you post about stuff other than music without sending your post somewhere else are healthier.
Case in point- on another board I frequent, I posted something Non-Music Related. I post it, then refresh. 4 views. Refresh again and it has 7 views.
That's why this board sucks. I like a lot of the people here, but if you post something NMR, you get penalized and/or moved. That sucks.
Oh, yeah- this place takes a long time to load, too.

This story reminds of some times I had in the mid 1980's . Was working at Chrysler HQ which was in the middle of the city of Detroit (acually a suburb Highland Park, and across the xpressway was another island town called Hamtramck- Old Polish neighborhood- a community where drinking establishments were at every corner and even mid block with in the neighborhoods.
On the north side was a bar across a communtity hopsipal called Dr Dave's Waiting Lounge and for Happy Hour 3-7pm they sold Altas and Strohs' runoff Gobel 3 bottles for a buck!! that's right 3 12 oz bottles for $1 . Half the town would be there during that tome ,incluing plenty of factory folks, Dr's,nurses & medical staff sucking down cheap swill for a few bucks every nite. Wall to wall people . especialy fun during those long hot, humid sticky summer Detroit daze!!! Ahhh the smell of cheap racid swill just tickling my nose hairs!!!

Yeah...its still around. I don't know what's up elsewhere, but for like the last 7-10 years the craze around St. Louis has been drinking the cheap old beers. I think I read an article about it called the retro beer craze or somethin'. There's even a local bar called the Tin Can that serves nothing but cheap beer out of cans...stuff like Old Style, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Stag, Old Milwaukee, Miller High Life, Schlitz and the like...

hehehe, FA...doing well...preparing for our son's Round 2 in Iraq. How are you?
Sorry, Snowie, it wasn't anything controversial at all -- I never did drugs, and, yes, my husband is MUCH better looking than I. But, he's stayed with this old biddy for more than 25 years. ;-)
Oprah's producers were doing a show about adolescents (primarily females) regarding their focused management of their body weight & self images. My son had always been thin, and as he entered the hormonal stage of development (around 15 y.o.), he became extremely concerned with his diet and ANY weight gain. And this kid was/is thin as thin could be...but like many of his peers at the time, there was an obsession to watch every morsal that was eaten. One of my friends knew the producer of this segment and mentioned Ryan's concerns. The producers called me and discussed the show, I refused because I didn't want either of us to participate, but we were on a flight the next day...the rest is history. It was a wonderful experience. Oprah was gracious and really enjoyed her interaction with my son. As a proud mother, I have to say that my boy looked STUNNING on television. :-) Following the show, I kept up with one of her producers for years. Ryan's poor eating habits subsided when he graduated from high school.
Sorry it wasn't juicier. I thought about making it much more "exciting" and twisting you guys for a few days but decided not.
Hope everyone is well!

Pumpkin is one of my favorites too, and will be one of the things that I make for hubby and son for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've never tried blueberry but there is a great steakhouse near our new home that makes the BEST! mmm-mmm-good. Hey, they used our 'real' FIRST names but not our last (producer's choice). We were wide out in the open, full throttle lights. I was petrafied and very relieved when Ryan did the talking. He was relaxed and did great! I tried to get him to model or act afterwards but he would have no part. He said he didn't want to do anything that required someone telling him what to do all the time! So...he goes and joins the Marine Corp????? Oh, that boy of mine...LOL...

The best peacan pies are from the south, since the majority of trees are down there. We had them all over Tennessee. Boy oh boy, do I miss southern cookin. Do they still have Church's Fried Chicken down there? mmmm....Hell, I miss pimento-cheese too. And fried chicken...ferget it...no one where I live has a clue how to cook it properly. Well, 3 Locker, I can tell that I made you hungry with all this pie talk! Southern cooking is truly a style of its own and something I was taught as a wee little girl ... unfortunately, I don't cook much of it any longer because of the health issues associated with biting into a nice, crispy piece of fresh, batter-fried chicken accompanied by homemade cream gravy with fresh, homemade buttermilk bisquits!. Geez. Yes, it's a woman. I didn't think I had to supply that kind of information for it to be understood. She's 38, a business owner, has two kids (and two pets) and a similar sense of humor to mine (which is a scary thought in and of itself).

Wow, another blast from the past. That was a fun read. Thanks for digging that up from the archives.

Jah welcome. It was a fun read while simultaneoulsy giving me a vehicle to chastise our resident Harvey Weinstein look-alike for his vindictive behavior.
edit: Snowbunny's still got some juice 'round these parts. The view count shot up like a rocket from just a half hour ago. Somebody needs to get ol' girl back around.

Just got mine removed 'bout 3 weeks back. With that and the appendix gone, I'm just jettisoning all spare parts, becoming more efficient. I think I still got a spare kidney lying around, although I'm pretty sure I need my whole liver.
Oh, and I've switched to High Life once they raised the prices on Old Style to make them equal.

You'll find life's not too much different without it. Just don't order extra cheese on your pizza, and you'll be fine.

Is it stone-less? Because I'd like to switch my left one out for one that doesn't produce a stone every 3 or 4 years.

So that's where you get your login. I always wondered.
