Wow. My latest issue of Paste mag arrives in the mail, and I pop in the DVD. Lots of artists on it- from live Pixies, to The Deathray Davies, to Elbow, to live EL&P (spinning piano!), to The Flaming Lips to Umphrey's McGee.
Who? That's what I thought. Then I watched the video. It's live, and they start out Phish-like and turn into Al DiMeola and back to the Phish thing. Holy crap! The guitarist is one of the quickest players I've seen in a long time, and the drummer ain't bad, either. It veers on the edge of collapse; sometimes I felt like the drummer is right on the verge of losing it, but they all end together. ;)
But the thing is, I've never heard of 'em. Not saying that I've heard everything that's anything to do with music, but guys with these chops doing the jam band thing? And there's nothing about them in the mag, that I can find. I'm sure I could find something if I Googled, but I just wanted to throw this out there, first.
Bueller?

BTW, if you can find Paste mag in your local book/record store, snatch it up. It comes with the DVD and a CD with a sh!t ton of new music, short films, games, movie trailers and much more. Helluva deal.
