I'm a flim nut and I'm always quoting lines from movies or Cartoons at people. Most of them never ever get it, but I do. What quotes do you use and why?

1. "Philistines!" - Victor Mature as Samson from "Samson and Delilah". Whenever someone's giving me a hard time I generally tend to call them this "in fun". I've other polysylabbic words when I'm really pissed off.

2. "S'cuze me while I whip this out" - Cleavon Little from "Blazing Saddles" For obvious reasons I quote this one. Most folks "get it".

3. "They're gonna have to fight to get me" - Dad Longworth from "They Were Expendable" - When the Japanese were closing in on Dad's boat repair business the American Captain who's P.T. Boats he was repairing asked him what he was going to do when they came this was his reply.

4. "Very Sloppy Roscoe, Very Sloppy. You're a Slobberly Houskeeper" - Daffy Duck "Conrad the Sailor" . When somebody drops something I usually use this quote.

5. "Shovin' Right Off Again. Shovin' Right Off Again. Shovin' Right Off Again! Phew!!!" - Same as above. Used just for stupidities sake.

6. "There ain't much there but what is is cherse" Spencer Tracy, "Pat and Mike". When I see frail with out much junk in da trunk, I use this line.

That's all I can do off the top of my head this morning but I'll be back.

"Good, Now move out of the way" - Dinosaur(Disney) - I say this every chance I get

"MUKULA" - Braveheart - Don't ask. Sometimes I just scream it out for no reason

"Tatonka"(Buffalo) - Dances with wolves - Nickname for my preg. wife

"GO, RUN...Head for tha choppa - Predator - Another random screamer

"Why don't you gets to dyin, that way you can make me lots of money" - MI2 - Life insurance talk

"We're all gonna die MAN, I'm freakin out MAN - Aliens - Just because again

"I'm gonna get you my pretty, AND YOUR LITTLE DOG TOTO TOO" - Wizard of OZ - Mother-In-law joke as she's walking toward our door to visit.

"They mostly come out at night... mostly." - Aliens , actually can use variations of this one in so many situations too.

I use these same 3 almost religiously...

Some other favs:
"I know it was you, Fredo (or whoever's name). You broke my heart. You broke my heart." Godfather Pt II

"In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the woman."
Scarface...Said Tony to Manny...I seem to be going about this in reverse order...

And
"Oh, you idiot! You glued it on upside-down! "
-The Goonies.

"Do you still run?"
"Only when chased" - from Real Genius if someone asks me if I run/jog.

"What's happenin' hot stuff?" and "The Donger need food!" - Sixteen Candles. It helps to be asian.

"Ah, yes...very funny...I make a speshar won ton soup for him." Eddie Murphy, Delirious. Again, it helps to be asian.

"Gargoyle, more food!" Cheech and Chong (jeez, can you tell it's lunchtime while I'm doing this?)

Doesn't everyone use the Aliens lines??

Off hand, I can only remember a few:

"Shoot me now, shoot me now." Daffy Duck
"Game over." Aliens (yes Top, I believe we all use this one)
"Just put your lips together & blow". (no explanation needed)
"Frankly Scarlet..." everyone knows the rest of this one.

These are just a few that my Swiss cheese memory let's me think of right now. But I use many more. More than I realized until I married a lady from the other side of the world. I can't tell you how many times I have had to stop to explain something I said only to realize that it was a quote or reference to an old movie or cartoon that she's never seen. Mostly it turns out to be from old Disney movies.

Here are some of my favorites from The Ghost and Mr. Chicken:

"Why don't you run up an alley and holler fish!" - usually my last comeback when my boys and I are picking on each other.

"Atta boy, Luther." - this one can be used sarcastically after a screwup or as a genuine compliment.

"And they used Bonami." - good 2 cents tag line for any discussion having to do with cleaning.

"When I was asked to be guest speaker at this luncheon, I asked myself, 'Luther, who are you to be guest speaker at this luncheon?' Let me clarify. What is a guest speaker? Let me clarify." - This one's great for when your kids are preparing to give a speech at school.

"My mama always said, I'd rather have good food than bad food any ol' day of the week." - appropriate for just about any conversation regarding food.

"That was the best pounded steak I've ever had." - my compliments to the chef.

From Tombstone:

Doc: "Wyatte is my friend"
Cowboy to Doc: "Well, I got alot of friends"
Doc: "But I Don't."

From Diehard 2:

Bruce Willis: "I could have been at the house by fireplace and christmass tree. But No! I got to crawl into this f*cking tin can!"

Star Wars
"(s)He doesn't like you. I don't like you either!"
I used this one as a kid almost exclusively to my little brothers, after they'd been scolded by my mother.

Return of the Jedi
"Come BOY, and witness the power of this fully armed and OPERATIONAL battle station!!"
Me again as a kid to my younger brothers, when I was about to beat up on them for smarting off to me. Loved all the emperors quotes from Jedi.

American Psycho
"returning some videos" when asked where I've been.

UHF
"Look Honey, Didn't anyone ever tell you? Broads don't belong in broadcasting."
UHF is full of great quotes

Geez, I have so many more but I can't think of many right now. Tons of Napoleon Dynamite quotes are quickly becoming standards for me too.

I forgot:

"Bueller? Bueller?" - when you want to know if someone is physically or mentally present.

smokey's list of movies reminded me of another classic one i use at any sporting event or when playing sports or especially video games (especially fight night round 2):

"d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-dont take this ass-whuppin' p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-personally."

:D

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy" everytime i walk into a bar/club.

"Stick around" Ahnold says this after he throws a knife through someone and they stick to a piece of bamboo tree in Predator. I randomly say this a few times during a month.

"Remember when I said I would kill you last? I lied." I actually dont say this one, but it is classic, from Commando.

"Up there it's their time, but down here.........down here it's our time" the goonies
"CHICO" The Running Man (I have a friend named chico so it does make sense)
"It's not the things of the body, but of the head and face" Life of Brian
that's all that I can think of at the moment that hasn't been mentioned.

Another line I use but I can not remember if it's from a movie. When I am asked where I live I tell the "Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous".

"You'll get nothing and like it!" Ted Baxter's character to his grandson
"I don't think the heavy stuff is coming for a while yet" (paraphrased) - Bill Murry- I like to say this when it looks like a storm outside.
"See the ball. Be...be the ball" - Chevy Chase to Danny Noonan
"Nuh...nuh...Noonan!" whenever I'm trying to distract someone
and of course "Doody!"

I loved Sigorne Weaver's quotes from Aliens; "Did IQ's drastically drop while I was away"; and "Well you can fvcking bill me" when she expressed a desire to nuke the creatures' nest from space and was told that it held to high of a monetary value...believe it or not, I have used that quote before. I also use the "game over, man" phrase from Aliens. Speaking of Bill Paxton, I like to quote him from Weird Science, when he's trying to make his little brother sick, "How's about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray".

My Star Wars quote comes from Yoda, "There is only do, or no do. There is no 'try' ".

One of my favorite movie quotes of all time came from a movie called About Last night with Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, and Jim Belushi. In one scene, Belushi tells a woman (played by Elizabeth Perkins), who's a sort of b!tch, "You know, if you didn't have a p*ssy, there'd be a bounty on your head."

Definitely a classic. I've met a few girls for whom this is true.

From the movie Dead Again...Robin Williams had a small part as a psychiatrist. If I remember correctly, he didn't even allow his name to be in the credits. The line is...

There are two kinds of people. Smokers and Non-smokers. Decide which one you are and be it.

I use this line everytime someone who smokes talks about how much they want to quit (I quit cold turkey so I've earned the right to use this line).

Also, Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet. Let's hit the f***ing road!

Edit: One I forgot to mention. Whenever someone does or says something a little off the deep end I say, it rubs the lotion on it's skin (Silence of the Lambs).

"Do you feel lucky, punk?" and "A man's got to know his limitations" from Clint Eastwood.

"Let's red line this sucker" from George Kennedy.

"Bark like a dog, you monkey woman," "I smell varmint poontain,"and "I'll teach you the meaning of respect" by Bill Murray.

"That's Mr. Sir" by Jon Voight.

"Get away from her, you *****," by Sigorney Weaver.

"I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way," by Jessica Rabbit.

Oh yea, can't forget just about every line by Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet. " Heiniken, F*** that s****, Pabst Blue Ribbon." I found a great shirt I couldn't resist with a creepy picture of Hopper with his Nitris mask half on and "Dont you F***in look at me" written under it.
