Need advice: Good DVD Recorder/VHS Combo

I've looked at the LG-LRY-517 (no recorder timer), and the SONY RDR-VX500 (really bad reviews regarding build quality).

I got to get one in the next day or two, so can anybody send me some info regarding a good versitile DVD Recorder/VHS Combo unit?
