I have recently built a 2 channel system for my office and have purchased the following used pieces:
- Rotel RC-995 PreAmp
- ROTEL RB-980BX Amp
- PSB Image B25 loudspeakers

My office is not large. Probably less than 300 sq feet. Im wondering if you can recommend a subwoofer to complement what I have. In addition, im going to have to get another amp for the sub (correct?). What would be the minium rated amp that I would need to effectivly run the sub.

Thanks in advance.

Depending on your budget, a small sub from Velodyne, Hsu, SVS, and others I'm sure someone else will recommend will suffice. You might want to think twice, no, three times about most brands in those big box stores.

Powered subs have a built in power amps and crossovers. Since you're running this off stereo system make sure it has a right and left channel input.

A sub with only one input will not be a wise investment. Just trust me on this.

Mark,
I promise I will not buy for a big store.

Thank you very much for your helpful feedback. I have looked at all 3 manufactures that you advised, and I think the HSU's are a great fit for my need. Im trying to decide between the STF-1, STF-2, and VTF-2.

The SFT-1 Runs about $300, but for $69 more I there is a new VTF-2 on Ebay...

I will let you know which one I get. Thanks again!
