Looking to add some Billie to my collection, can't afford the really expensive box set, but BMG has half price(no s&h) discs now.
Complete Decca.
Lady in Autumn
Ultimate collection.
Thanks in advance.
Missed you guys.

All three of those are winners & cost less than any of the more extensive multi-disc boxes. The only thing with Complete Decca is that the single disc Best Of Billie Holiday covers that period pretty much just as well. But you really can't go wrong with any of these. Ultimate is as bare-bones as you can get from A to Z but is a great set, especially given the inclusion of the DVD. And Lady In Autumn was the first Billie collection I picked up, covers my favorite period of hers...tough choice! Still, I'd say Ultimate #1, Lady #2, Complete #3, in that order.

Hey, Tony.
Check to see if they have "The Silver Collection" on Verve. This one has excellent sound as well as an awesome collection of songs.
Lady Day is a genius.
Glad to see you're getting into her music.
Cheers,
Bill aka audiobill
