I hope someone has one for sale for you. I recently bought an MG-1 last March. It is by far the greatest value in the analog marketplace.
After reading your post, I went back to Ada's site. I guess he's increased his pricing in recent days. I can't see how he would stay in business with the machinework necessary to fabricate these pieces. The packaging that was used to ship my product was meticulous and expensive.
At his new price point, its still priced equivalent to a Rega RB300 but I think it still out performs it hands down. The MG-1 is also still 1/15th the price of the Air Tangent linear tracking equivalent.
I've had the priviledge of some exposure to the Air Tangent and Emminent Technologies linear tonearms. I think Ada's MG-1 would get a lot more press and respect if it were more expensive. I'm convinced his pricepoint also exposes some of the ridiculous profit margin of many "High-end" analog components.
Thanks,
As you mention Ada has increased his price and he appears to now have a distributor.
I do not argue with his price as I agree it is ok as per your opinion, but my funds are limited to his original price.
With his also additional paypal and packaging fees and with this then exchange rate converted I am at just below $800.
I am truly envious of you
