The guy at JBM Audio sent a private message to the poster. The appearance of such tends to raise questions. If that were a post solely plugging (no pun intended) his product, it would be considered inappropriate and promptly deleted.

It would be different for a dealer to include one of their represented products in a list of recommendations so long as they are completely open as to the fact that they make money on them. Here is an example found on another board asking for alternatives to Avantgarde speakers that I would let stay:

"Competition for the Avantgardes would come from Classic Audio Reproductions, Edgarhorn, eXemplar, GedLee, and Zingali. Disclaimer - I peddle one of these brands. Which is best for you depends on what you're looking for... "
