I have an annoying problem with my setup. HUM. It is intermittent and I've been able to isolate it to the four DC cooling fans which have AC transformers. The source of the hum is the fans/wires leading to their power source. Unfortunately, the hum will return from time to time and is somewhat irritating. The power is routed through an Adcom ACE-515 AC center to the amps: a Yamaha HTR 5790 (amp/pre-amp) driving several speakers and a separate ADCOM GFA 555 which drives four speakers. Cables are all of good quality. Is there a product (tubing, tape, etc) that could be used to wrap or cover the fan wires and isolate or at least minimize the hum causes by the fans. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Try this Humbuster from PS Audio. (http://www.psaudio.com/products/humbusterac.asp)

Associated articles on their website will explain all you need to know about hum. If you want to get more sophisticated, you might also look into their UPC 200HB.

Hope this helps.
