Well i finally finished the room and thought id share it. I put in a new ceeiling, new floors, new wallpaper etc....

I also changed the equipment from Krell KSA-150 to Sphinx Project 18. The Krell KRC-2 for the Sphinx Project 2 MKII and the Audiolab 8000 CD and DAC for the Unison Research Unci CD (192khz and full dual triode balanced)

This is now..

You're certainly not a minimalist, are you Florian. I think I would find all that massive equipment a bit intrusive and dominating in my living space, even though I do have a large room. Still, I envy you your capability to play with all this high end gear. Most of us can only dream, and make small changes / experiments to our systems once in a while, and only after diverting much needed finances from other urgent family requirements.

Nice job Flo. D.m nice! It looks great! I bet it sounds even better than it looks. Congratulations & I hope you enjoy it for many years. I may never have a chance to put together a room like this. But it's nice to dream.

By the way, now what will up upgrade to? Any tweeks & mods on the horizon?

Nice job. Have you tried positioning the Apogees a bit further away from the walls? I get better center fill with my 'stats with them a bit closer together.

I did play with the space to the sides a bit and the center fill does become a tad better when i have more space. Since the speaker is 82cm wide it already has a considerably distance to the side. I fixed it with the first reflection point absorbers and the small toe in of aprox. 1.2 inches.
