Anyone have the 3802 or notice any difference between the 3801? I'm just asking because I'm going to get a second receiver for my bedroom & was planning to get a used 3801 again but right now all Ebay is listing are the 3802's at slightly cheaper prices.

As I know, 3802 just has a little more power with 110w/ch while 3801 is 105w/ch.

I looked up the specs and apparently there are some further differences, so rather than taking a chance on not getting the sound I'm happy with, I'm going to wait till another 3801 is available at the right price for me. Thanks

The 3802 should be a better unit. It displaced the 3801 for a reason.

I have the twin to the 3802. It's Denon's 1082, which I bought 3 years ago for $540. If you look it up on Denon USA's website, where they archive past owner's manuals, the manual for the 1082 will show the 3802. Their archived manuals can also be a pretty good source since you are comparing two of their older receivers. Anyway, I bring up the 1082 since you might find it on eBay for slightly less. All in all, a great receiver!! I use in a 7.1 set-up in a large room (17x30). I think you'll be very pleased.

Highly unlikely that the 3802 would be inferior in anyway. It probably has a few minor differences in terms of features and cosmetics. The 105 to 110 watt/channel increase will make no difference, and it's quite likely these unit share the same guts.

Dont you still have your JVC? Heck that would be nice in a bedroom.
