Any out there? I'm looking for one for my wife to do her yoga DVD's on. Surround modes and progressive scan are unimportant. I just don't want to have to replace it every year.

i think the best cheap dvd player on the market is "technosonic" you can find them at radio shack as well as london drugs. i have one and it is one of the best dvd players i have ever owned. it has the best layer changes ive ever seen. ive never come across a layer change in a movie with it ever. never skips. good picture/ sound.

radio shack was selling them for $50 a while back around christmas "thats canadian prices so i have no idea if you are in the states"

NOt sure about the cheapness aspect, but I purchased a Panasonic three years ago and it has worked flawlessly. I also have had great success with Samsung products and would not hesitate to recommend them as well.
