Genesis Model III (unhappy with Focal 927 BE)

Hi,
first, please excuse my english, i`m from germany.

Now to the problem. I own a pair of JmLab 927 BE at the time. I find that they are nice speakers, but they sound just a bit to bright and at the top end the so called brilliant beryllium tweeter (so-called best on the market) just annoys me.

Recently i received a very attractive offer for a pair of Genesis Model III.

These are 6 years old and in perfect condition ( i don`t know if the age is a problem?).

My problem is that it`s been a long time since i last heard them, but as far as i remember they were very good and played fine even in smaller rooms.

In german forums hardly anybody knowes these speakers, so nobody could give me further info. or picture longer term experiences with the GENESIS Model III.

Maybe you can be of some help.

I have to make a decision in the next 4 days.

Hello Chris,

I picked up your thread on the U.K. Hi-Fi Choice Forum. The only thing I would carefully check for are the foam surrounds on the woofers and midranges for any deterioration. I am sure that the Distributor there could help if necessary if you do require servicing.

I have heard they are excellent speakers, and do have a smooth, detailed top end. :)

I have not heard a single negativ thing about these speakers till now...
