DISH dropping locals

We've been notified that DISH network is dropping our local ABC affiliate due to failure to reach agreement on renewing contract which expires May 30. Is this something that is happening in your area? Or, is it a purely local deal gone bad?

Interestingly, DirecTV is flooding the local media with ads claiming that the only way to get local channels is to switch.

I hope DISH can at least get us an ABC affiliate from another area. I rarely watch ABC, but it does carry certain sports events that I MUST see.

No such notice from Dish here in New Jersey. I guess a roof antenna is out of the question? I'm looking into it to supplement HD program material. Dish is tripping over itself in all sorts of ways. They get everyone excited about adding VOOM as more HD programming, but when you call to find out more, its $99 to install a Voom dish on your roof. Sorry to go off the topic.
