What is a good computer speaker? It is just for my office and at low volumes, but I don't want the $10 speaker from COMP USA. I will be using XM or online music through my ISP (highspeed cable modem).
Is there a big difference between using the headphone output or do I need a special sound card?

you'll probably like klipsch promedias or the higher-end altec lansing speakers.
these are probably your best bet:

and im sure the headphone jack will suffice.

The're great for music, but not so good for gaming.
If your gaming your going to want a more visceral speaker package;

The output from your soundcard will drive both of these.

Flat response, good imaging, can play suprisingly loud (but sensitive), excellent bass from speakers with no sub (not boomy or one-note).
