crossover points

Does anyone know what the 2-way crossover frequency is on the mid 90's Infinity RS5? I want to rig them up with a new crossover so I can bi-amp them.

I'm looking for the specs on the RS5 or 2000.5 with dual 6.5 in. drivers arranged D'Apolito with the silk dome tweeter. It's a two way design.

I'm not sure you'll want to bi-amp these speakers, as it's doubtfull it will make any worthwhile improvement. You could end up making things worse in the crossover and ruin the original integration...even a small change in inductance can mess things up.

I'd recommend using quality amplification for these, but beyond that I think you could be making trouble for yourself here.

My RS5's are rated to 200 watts RMS. I am planning on using the bi amp feature on my new pioneer vsx52tx. The more power the better, right?

I guess you may have to email their support for the information as there is a RS5 1990s, but no x-over specs.

More power is only good if you really need it. How loud do you want these things to play?
Don't confuse MORE power with BETTER QUALITY power.
A cheaper and far easier solution would be to buy a good used power amp, Rotel, NAD, Adcom or something along those lines for $100 or so and run it off the pre-outs of your receiver.
Those speakers are pretty efficient and don't need much power.
