Sounds pretty freaking good to me so far. Another Davey find is probably gonna pan out. AMG newsletter says it's out today but maybe that's just the import version since Borders is calling it a pre-order today.. I'm betting my record store didn't order any. Waiting is torture.

Hmmm, I talked about it a couple weeks ago in the Tuesday thread and wasn't all that impressed back then. Still, it is The National....

Uh, yep, you shurely did. Must have been painting that day too. This ol' house is pretty big and really, really tall so it's been taking pretty much all of my non-working hours. Looks like rain today though so I can catch up on all my delinquent mailings and ramble a bit with the folks here.
I only got up to track five before I had to move along-I liked it quite a bit. First impressions can be misleading but it's looking like a worthwhile purchase for me. Going to call the orange and pink hair-tatooed and pierced gal at the record store in about 15 minutes and she how well she knows her customers. Hopefully she read my mind and ordered it for me.

Well, keep me posted if you get it but I just didn't think what I heard sounded interesting enough to buy it right now, and I was really looking forward to it. Just popped into PopMatters this morning and they really trashed it, only rating it a 2! Didn't read the review, just barely skimmed it, but didn't sound like the guy was familiar with the band. Oh well, a bad review wouldn't stop me if I thought it sounded good. This is the silly review tag line that could probably be turned around and used to describe the review...:)
Pretentious, unimaginative and a complete waste of time, this Alligator should be put out of its misery and turned into a stylish wallet/belt combo immediately.

Not that it really matters one way or the other, but the folks over at Obner seem to be gushing over it. I checked around there for the first time in weeks yesterday (and saw a similar streaming thread) and several folks were already proclaiming it to be the one to beat for record of the year. Go figure.
