Upgrade Queries

Recently I am seriously thinking to upgrade my system. I seem like having 2 options as following and would like to seek your professional advise in which to go.

My Existing Set-up:

Marantz CD 7300 Player
QED Q3 Interconnect
Primare I20 Int. Amp.
QED Plus Bi-Wired
ProAc Studio 125.

My Upgrade Options :

(1) Upgrade my Marantz CD 7300 to Primare CD 20 Series; OR
(2) Add Richard Gray Power Co. 400 into my existing set-up.

I would like to know the sonic improvement i will get from each of the above upgrade and also your personal opinion which is the best i shold go for.

Upgrade the CD Player first, the biggest bang for buck will come from here, If you want to toy with mains conditioning, then toy with a cheaper unit.

A better CDP will give a more refined sound especially in the treble and address issues like digital glare and hardness.

The benefits of a mains are harder to quantify and will largely depend on the quality of your existing supply, it address mains noise which or may not be big issue for you.

Ditto.....Upgrade should always, well almost always start with the source. You will enjoy the new CD player if you buy a good one for sure. You many find some of your equipment is better than you thought it was because the front end was letting you down.

I am very happy with my new Arcam CD73 and it has made a big difference to my system.
