Been helping a friend on a home theater system.
Looked at two systems at the same price range.
B&W 600 series with a Velodyne 12" 250 watt sub.
Axiom bookshelf with the Outlaw Audio 12" 320 watt sub.
Anybody heard these systems?

B&W is a reputable high end speaker manufacturer sold only through authorized high end dealers. You can audition them yourself, or your friend can. The 600 line, I feel, offers exceptional value and incorporates a lot of technology in this budget line of speakers. Axiom is an advertising banner that flashes across the page of audio related websites, not that i'm opinionated or anything.

Speakers are a very personal thing, so, you should try to listen to them before you buy. I listened to the B&W 602 and thought they sounded pretty good. My wife, who is a music teacher, hated them. She said they had huge freq. holes.
My wife prefers Boston Acoustics, Energy, and Paradigm. All of which we have owned. We also own Axiom M3Ti speakers. These have gotten great reviews by many publications. I think they are very nice speakers, but not the giant killers some reviewers claim.
Listen to the speakers if at all possible. Both brands you have listed have loyal followers.
