Eastwood will start shooting on his next movie about the battle of Iwo Jima, based on James Bradley's book "Flags of Our Fathers: Heroes of Iwo Jima", later this year.
He recently met with Tokyo's nationalist governor Shintaro Ishihara to discuss "avoiding disturburing sacred sites" on the island. The battle which lasted from Februrary - March 1945 claimed over 27,000 lives. Eastwood, 74, has won two best best-director Oscars for "Million Dollar Baby" and "Unforgiven".
