DVD Shrink & Upconverting DVD Players

Just a question for DVD Shrink users out there.

I am tempted by DVD players that upconvert, but would like to know if the upconversion to 720p/768p/1080i works on compressed DVDs such as those that we back up. I have not been able to confirm whether this would in fact be a problem, and need to know it anyone has experienced any glitches in their "back up" copies.

I seem to be your booby prize. I'm not sure that I get what you're asking, but it seems to me that if the type of video disk that you want to watch is on the list of those that your DVD is capable of playing, then it will be capable of upconversion.

it will upconvert the movies anyway but the image quality wont be there because shrink doesn't re-encode the movie... it's transcoding it i.e. remove the small details.
