Ah. Didn't realize you were referring specifically to the 1/4" to RCA flavor.

oh and a 700 dollar firewire slightly down the line just does it for me...
if its DATA and not sound travelling through a firewire, how the **** is a 700 cable going to improve sound???

Maybe it's just me, but why would anyone who owns an iPod pay MORE for the interconnect than the player itself? Most of the time, you'll run compressed MP3 or AAC files thru an iPod, so it's a compromised signal to begin with.

http://www.crystalcable-usa.com/products.html I met a wealthy Audiophile who sold me a pair of speaker cables that cost him more than a thousand dollars. He sold them to me for a very good price. WOW, These cables improved my sound more than a new component. I had put decent interconnects on the preamp to power amp connection (the first place to put them) and to the digital source. By upgrading my interconnects, I have very much improved my sound. The system has sufficent resolution to allow me to really hear the difference between 24/96 and 24/192 recordings. Cables are a low cost upgrade. To have the most fun, upgrade 1 cable at a time
