Do you still need to have shielded speakers with DLP, Plasma, projection and LCD monitors?

I would love an answer to this one myself.

Guys, since nothing in a plasma, LCD, or DLP image-making apparatus can get affected by a magnetic field and cause color bending as on CRTs, shielding isn't necessary. It's even arguable that CRT RPTVs don't need the protection either. If the picture goes out of whack a little, converging the set should bring it back into line, at least until the TV, or the source of the magentic field, moves, requiring a new adjustment.

How can you recalibrate CRT if it is just the sides and corners that are effected by a speaker.

You'd need at least a convergence system with nine points, but the more the merrier. But I've never seen an RPTV go out of whack because of an unshielded speaker, at least in part because the vast majority of home theater speakers these days are shielded.
